The Mercer Park project is a full-building remodel located in the heart of Mercer Island.

To pay homage to the island’s history and surrounding nature, the graphic wall features a panoramic scene of Lake Washington and the second largest floating bridge in the world, the Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Bridge, which connects Seattle to Mercer Island.

The LED art installation of Mercer Island was influenced and designed to reflect the city's vibrant culture while complementing the interior and furniture elements.

The Challenge

The graphic wall and art installation are the focal points of the newly expanded lobby.

The main challenge of the graphic wall was to create an art piece that continues from the lobby, through the architectural portal, and into the elevator lobby as seamlessly as possible. The main challenge of the art installation was to effectively create a piece that is fully functioning for power and maintenance.

I was responsible for creating designs for both features and served as the main point of contact for the contractors. I determined the overall design, materials, and scale for a well-received outcome.

The Process

  1. Determine feature wall locations

  2. Pull inspiration and colors from FF&E

  3. Test out concepts in 3D model renderings

  4. Coordinate production and schedule with contractors
